TEFL for non-native speakers of english

This course is designed for non-native speakers who wish to learn and improve teaching skills by learning to teach English. This course is taught at the level of an introductory college course.

In this 80 hour course, participants will :

  • understand current methodology for teaching English in a foreign language setting
  • practice creating activities for all skill areas
  • be able to integrate grammar, music, drama, and art into language activities
  • observe local language classrooms
  • receive a Certificate in TEFL from the School of Teaching ESL

What type of certificate will I receive

Upon completion, participants earn a “School of Teaching ESL TEFL Certificate”. This certificate will help you improve your English and your ability to begin teaching English in a foreign country.” The certificate does not meet local (U.S.) teaching certification or degree requirements for teachers, but it can be a useful addition to a language teacher’s qualifications.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years old. An application, in person interview and writing sample are required.

Recommended: Test scores, letters of recommendation, and evidence of completion of a language program may be submitted to supplement the application

About the Class

  • Classes will be Monday - Thursday, 9:00AM - 3:00PM
  • Student can expect 2 - 3 hours of homework per night and on weekends
  • Tuition for this program is $1200.00
